Trailer Park Friday: Two Short Films, Inside Out, The Con Man & More

This week we don't have just trailers here at the Trailer Park. Thanks to so lurking around io9, there are a couple of short films along with a trailer for an upcoming web series and of course some movies.

First up is Sequence, a 20 minute short film that gets on the violent side of things. It's about that weird day when your girlfriend tells you she had a really messed up dream about you and then someone else you know says they dreamed about you too, and things just get a whole lot worse from there. It's by Carles Torrens and might have given me the hebbie jebbies.

The next one is this adorable claymation animated short about a man who search brought up a roommate a little different than expected. It's by Laerke Kromann and David Crisp, and it's called Roommate Wanted - Dead or Alive. It's only about 8 minutes long.

If you're a Firefly fan, you've probably already heard about Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion's Indiegogo campaign for The Con Man, a new web series they're creating that has a premise a little too close to comfort. After starring on a short-lived, but cult loved sci-fi series, Alan's character can't seem to get his career off the ground, making his living from attending sci-fi conventions while his former co-star is now a hot movie star. You can support their campaign here. Here's the trailer they just released earlier today.

Pixar has released a new trailer for their upcoming release Inside Out, which is all about the feelings living inside your head. Something tells me that it will be difficult to not get the feels with this one. It comes out June 19.

I don't really know much about Torrowland, other than that it's a place at Disney World with old school future tech and robots (or it was when I was a kid). There is also someone named Myles that has a cartoon about him that my niece and nephew love. As for the up coming George Clooney movie, I don't know much about it. It comes out May 22.

And finally the newest trailer for a videogame that will stress me out too much to play it probably. Batman: Arkham Knight is the newest in ht eBatman game series and it looks vicious. It comes out on June 2.

What videos have caught your eye on the internet lately? Share the links in the comments and have a great weekend.

Trailer Park Friday: Crimson Peak, Pitch Perfect 2, Orphan Black Season 3 & The Man from UNCLE

It's been another long week of unpleasantness. Let's watch some videos and forget about it, shall we?

I was really tempted to put this trailer for Crimson Peak and just walk away. I mean, it's a gothic Tim Hiddleston movie directed by Guillermo del Toro with Jessica Chastain and Bobby from Supernatural. What else do you need to get your weekend started off right? It looks creepy and will probably give me nightmares, but it will be awesome. It comes to theatres October 16.

Speaking of awesome, you know what's super awesome? Pitch Perfect. What's going to be me awesome? Pitch Perfect 2. Unlike the previous trailer, this one gives some bits of the plot away. It comes out May 15 and that makes me very happy.

I'm not exactly particularly invested in The Man from UNCLE due to the actors. I don't really have feelings one way or another for Henry Cavill or Arnie Hammer, but this trailer is pretty action packed and I like spy thrillers with gadgets. It's directed by Guy Ritchie, so it's probably going to have some cool stylistic elements to it as well. It comes out August 14.

Somehow the Big Hero 6 dvd came out and I don't own it yet. This makes me sad, so I will have to remedy that this weekend. This is an io9 exclusive, so I can't embed the video, but if you go here you will find a clip of some of the bonus features where Baymax shares some Easter eggs hidden in the film.

And finally have a very brief teaser for season 3 of Orphan Black. Because Tatiana Maslaney is awesome and can do no wrong. It comes back to BBC America on April 18.

So anyone planning to watch a good movie this weekend? We might finally go see The Theory of Everything or Birdman at the indie theatre. What will you be watching this weekend?

Trailer Park Friday: The One Full of Book and Comic Adaptations

It's been a terrible week, so let's watch some trailers and eat some Girl Scout cookies.

Earlier today the trailer for season 5 of Game of Thrones got leaked. I'm not really seeing much to flail about in the trailer, just flashes of characters, but I know a lot of people are excited. Game of Thrones comes back to HBO on April 12.

I nearly had forgotten about iZombie, the new CW show based on the comic book series. The trailer doesn't make it look like much, but it's being done by the Veronica Mars people, so we'll give it a shot. It starts on March 17.

Earlier this week the first trailer for the return of Agents of SHIELD aired and it shows some interesting set up for when the show comes back on March 3.

Another Age of Ultron trailer has come out. I haven't watched it because I'm trying to stay away from any more information about that movie, but people seem to be excited about it. Age of Ultron comes out on May 1.

A lot of trailers will come out on Sunday, but this year, a lot of them are having "sneak peeks" online. Here is the new Super Bowl pre-game trailer for Insurgent. It comes out on March 20.

And finally the very first teaser of the film version of The 5th Wave, which will come out a year from now on January 29, 2016. This will hopefully be a worthy adaptation with Chloe Moretz starring.

And that's what I have for you guys this week. It's time for me to veg out on the couch and watch some stupid cartoons or something, purge this silly week from my mind. Have a great weekend everyone!

Trailer Park Friday: The Returned, Penny Dreadful, Robots Playing Soccer & More

It's been awhile since I shared some fun trailers with you guys. By now you've probably already seen the Antman trailer, which I'm completely meh indifferent to, and the Age of Ultron trailer, which freaked me out in the best ways. I've decided to avoid any future Age of Ultron trailers as best I can so that I can be surprised and amazed when the movie comes out.

So what trailers or videos might I have stumbled across in the last few weeks that would be new to you?

Well, there's the first trailer for The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which is a Netflix series created by Tina Fey. It's not the usual Mandroid fare, but we're fond of 30 Rock and Tina around here, so I'll be interested in checking out this series when it debuts its entire first season on March 6 on Netflix.

I didn't realize there was a Telltale Games version of Game of Thrones, and I'm really surprised that Fernando hasn't played it. Apparently it's a 6 part story type game with the second "episode" coming out on February 3 on downloadable platforms.

Here, have some robots playing soccer. They are still better at sports than I am.

A&E is remaking the French television show The Returned (or Les Revenants if you want to get technical). I can't imagine it will be as understatedly creepy as the original, but we'll give it a try. It starts on March 9 and will feature quite a few familiar fans to anyone who watches a lot of genre television.

And finally here's the trailer for season 2 of Penny Dreadful. I really enjoyed the first season and look forward to seeing what other twisted version of Victorian characters they manage to add in the second season. Plus Eva Green is just perfect in this show. It returns to Showtime on April 26.

And that's what I have this week. Hopefully I will return next week with more fun videos. What's caught your eye on the internet this week?

Trailer Park Friday: Adventuresome Robots, Space Shenanigans, Retellings & More

It's chilly and rainy here today, and it looks like it's going to be a wet weekend. But we just discovered that The Lego Movie is on HBO, so I have a feeling a lot of things are going to be awesome despite the weather. Let's watch some videos to get this weekend started.

Big Hero 6 is already out in theatres and I've already seen it, but this hand-drawn trailer from Japan makes me want to see it another half a dozen times. Oh Baymax...

Ascension is a mini series that will air on Syfy over three nights in December. It's supposed to be a space opera that could potentially become a series if the mini series does well. It has a bit of an Downton Abbey in space with the class war element to it. It starts December 15.

Pitch Perfect is one of those comfort movies that I will always watch when I find it on television. Now there's going to be a sequel and the first trailer has come out. I don't know how it could match up to the first one, but I still am excited to see it.

Yet another faerie tale live-action movie is being released, this time for Cinderella. Doesn't look like it has much special about it to me, but it's pretty. It comes out March 13.

A new trailer for Insurgent was recently released and it looks like the second movie in the Divergent series might be as exciting as the second book was. It's also going to be full of greenscreen CGI, which could turn out not so great. It comes out March 20.

We started with an adorable robot and we end with a less adorable, but just as entertaining robot. This is Chappie, by Neill Blomkept, the guy who made District 9. This could be a really entertaining robot film even if Hugh Jackman has bad hair. I'm also becoming very fond of Dev Patel. This film comes out March 6, so I think it's going to be my new "must see" movie to look forward to.

What videos have caught your eye this week? Any 2015 movies you're eager to see right now? Link them up in the comments!

Trailer Park Friday: The All Superheroes All the Time Edition

No preamble. No waiting. You've probably already seen it a bajillion times, but here's the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. It's kind of creepy. We will be taunted about this movie until we can see it on May 1, 2015.

To balance the Marvel goodness out, lets toss in some DC action. As part of a NYCC wrapup video the comic book publisher released, they included a clip of the upcoming Justice League cartoon movie. While I dread the upcoming slaet of DC live action movies, I'm always game for an animated film. This one is called Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. It will be released on DVD and streaming sometime in early 2015.

There's also a bit about upcoming DC comics and LEGO Batman 3 in this video.

Speaking of LEGO Batman 3, I am so excited about Batman in space. WB Games released a short video talking to some of the voice talent behind the new game, including Stephen Amell (Mr. Arrow of course) and Conan O'Brien (yeah, really). It comes out November 11 and you should preorder it right now!

And finally the very first trailer for the new series version of the comic series Powers came out last week at NYCC as well. This is going to be a not-so-child-friendly comic book show that's a little more violent and "adult" than most of the comic book shows on the air. It stars Sharlto Copley (the dude from District 9) and will be streaming on the Playstation Network (which I didn't even realize was a thing...) starting in December.

So what do you think of the Age of Ultron trailer? Are you obsessed with the LEGO games like I am? Let me know in the comments!

Trailer Park Friday: Heroes Shoot First, Korra, Baymax Is My Favorite & More

I've had a rough week, but today my chiropractor made a bunch of joints crack and now I feel loads better. I hope you guys have had an easier week and are now ready to party with some trailers. This week's Trailer Park is a fun one.

Legend of Korra just ended its third season about a month ago, but because of Nickelodeon being stupid and moving it to online only, we're getting the fourth and final season starting next week. This trailer shows a three year time jump and makes the premise of this last season very intriguing. Legend of Korra returns next Thursday, October 3, on Nickelodeon.com.

My coworker has a quadcopter. He does not know how to make it dance. This is a shame because this video from Cirque de Soliel makes me happy.

What happens when you smash up Captain Mal from Firefly, Han Solo from Star Wars and Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy and turn them into Legos? You get this video from the Brotherhood Workshop that was the highlight for my Friday afternoon.

One of the writers for Orphan Black, Tony Eliott, released a short film about quantum experiments and general craziness. Thanks to io9 for bringing it to my attention.

And finally, I was already pretty confident that I was going to love Disney's Big Hero 6, but after seeing the latest trailer, I'm calling it now. This will be my favorite movie of the year and I will want to share it with everyone. Even if the trailer did get me a little teary eyed. It comes out November 7.

I hope you guys have a fabulous weekend filled with awesomness!
