I accidentally stumbled upon the vast network of book bloggers accidentally last month due to a “blog hop”. Blog hops are where a bunch of blogs get together and host giveaways in order to attract a larger audience to each participant. This works especially well with book bloggers because they can give away advance reader copies or other swag they’ve picked up along the way. Many of them choose to give out gift certificate to Amazon or The Book Depository.
Today starts the newest blog hop, hosted by I Am a Reader, Not a Writer. The Midsummer’s Eve Giveaway is occurring across 276 different blogs, each holding their own contest. While Working for the Mandroid is not taking part in this particular blog hop, we’re looking forward to the time when we can jump into the fray of giveaways. I’ve gone through half the list of blogs and pulled out links to ones that caught my eye. The entire list can be found here on I Am a Reader, Not a Writer, and all contests end on Friday, June 24.
Some contests can be entered just by leaving a comment. Others require following them on Google, Twitter, Facebook, what have you. All in all it’s a great way to find some wonderful new blogs to follow while potentially getting some new books for yourself. More tomorrow after I get through the other half of the list.
Long list of links ahead along with a few other non-blog hop contests that caught my interest.
