Monsters (Ashes #3)
Ilsa J Bick
Releases September 10, 2013
The Changed are on the move. The Spared are out of time. The End...is now.
When her parents died, Alex thought things couldn't get much worse-until the doctors found the monster in her head.
She headed into the wilderness as a good-bye, to leave everything behind. But then the end of the world happened, and Alex took the first step down a treacherous road of betrayal and terror and death.
Now, with no hope of rescue-on the brink of starvation in a winter that just won't quit-she discovers a new and horrifying truth.
The Change isn't over.
The Changed are still evolving.
And...they've had help.
With this final volume of The Ashes Trilogy, Ilsa J. Bick delivers a riveting, blockbuster finish, returning readers to a brutal, post-apocalyptic world where no one is safe and hope is in short supply.
A world where, from these ashes, the monsters may rise.
First of all, does that seriously say 688 pages?! That's seems almost as long as the other two books combined. Even though there feels like there is a ton to get through to satisfactorily end this series, I think the page count might be an error that is making the rounds. You can find my reviews of the first two books here: Review of Ashes and Review of Shadows
So I have this really bad feeling that there will be no happy endings for anyone in this final volume of what is one of my favorite YA zombie series that doesn't have a zombie named Bram who gives me conflicting feelings in it. This series has been creepy, heart pounding and devastating. I can't wait to see how Bick finishes things off and I really, really hope Tom makes it out alive. That guy has been through enough.
