Trailer Park Friday: The All Superheroes All the Time Edition

No preamble. No waiting. You've probably already seen it a bajillion times, but here's the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. It's kind of creepy. We will be taunted about this movie until we can see it on May 1, 2015.

To balance the Marvel goodness out, lets toss in some DC action. As part of a NYCC wrapup video the comic book publisher released, they included a clip of the upcoming Justice League cartoon movie. While I dread the upcoming slaet of DC live action movies, I'm always game for an animated film. This one is called Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. It will be released on DVD and streaming sometime in early 2015.

There's also a bit about upcoming DC comics and LEGO Batman 3 in this video.

Speaking of LEGO Batman 3, I am so excited about Batman in space. WB Games released a short video talking to some of the voice talent behind the new game, including Stephen Amell (Mr. Arrow of course) and Conan O'Brien (yeah, really). It comes out November 11 and you should preorder it right now!

And finally the very first trailer for the new series version of the comic series Powers came out last week at NYCC as well. This is going to be a not-so-child-friendly comic book show that's a little more violent and "adult" than most of the comic book shows on the air. It stars Sharlto Copley (the dude from District 9) and will be streaming on the Playstation Network (which I didn't even realize was a thing...) starting in December.

So what do you think of the Age of Ultron trailer? Are you obsessed with the LEGO games like I am? Let me know in the comments!

Trailer Park Friday: Gotham Villians, Lego Batman, Sean Bean Will Probably Die & KORRA!

Of all the movies yet to come out this year, I think Guardians of the Galaxy is the one I'm most excited about. They released a new international trailer. Rocket Raccoon and those other guys will be in theatres starting August 2.

Of all the new fall television shows, I think I'm most excited about Gotham and Flash, so I was really excited to see this new teaser trailer for Gotham. Considering it's pre-Batman, the draw of this show for me will be the development of the villians. I hope the kid they got to play Selina Kyle can act because she totally looks the part.

Speaking of Batman, I just found out that a third Lego Batman game will be coming out soon. I love Lego games and I love Batman, so this will be part of my collection. There isn't an official release date yet, but it's supposed to come out this fall.

Here is a trailer for Legend. I'm predicting that Sean Bean will die at the end. It airs on TNT starting August 13.

This new Dreamworks animated film has an insanely generic name, which is sad because it looks potentially funny. It's called Home and it has Jim Parsons as an alien. It's comes out March 25, 2015.

And finally, there's no release date and no voice track on this footage for season 3 of Legend of Korra, but it gave me chills anyway. Looks like the next season will be full of action and plenty of all our favorite secondary characters.

What movie or television show are you most excited to see released? Link up trailers in the comments!

Random Tuesday Returns and Everything Is Awesome (Except for Mean Comic Book Workers)

Is it possible? Has Random Tuesday finally returned? Are you about to get a face full of random things? Why, yes, you are. But first, have an ear worm.

You're welcome.

Noelle Stevenson, aka Gingerhaze, is one of my favorite fan artists, except now she's not just a fan artist, but a real comic creator. She created a short comic yesterday about her time visiting a comic book store that didn't go so well. Luckily we're priviledged to have Austin Books & Comics within a short drive, a comic book store staffed with incredibly generous and knowledgable staff of men and women. I have, however, had less pleasant experiences at other shops in the area, occassionally feeling like I was an alien that had stumbled upon a hidden secret planet where I DID NOT BELONG.

Of course said comic then led to some priviledged asshats coming out of the dark cobwebbed areas of the internet to be even more priviledged and more asshatty (totally a word). The formatting on that Tumblr post is a little messed up, so it's difficult to find where the writer changes, but it doesn't really matter.

So yes, drama on the internet. That's new. If you're looking for a female-friendly comic book store in your area, this Tumblr called Hater Free Wednesdays has a list of shops to check out.

But this isn't random enough. We NEED MORE RANDOM!

io9 has a sneak peak of a Game of Thrones art show that's going to be in Seattle in March. You can several of the GOT inspired pieces here.

Speaking of GOT exhibits, there is a HBO sponsored exhibit of pieces from the show going to several places around the global, including our hometown of Austin. Fernando is excited, but I have no idea how this is going to work with South by Southwest happening at the same time. Bets on if Ned's head will be included?

Between his Facebook and Twitter, Stephen Amell is quickly becoming my new favorite celebrity. I mean, seriously, this guy...

Marissa Meyer released a short story based on The Little Mermaid to celebrate the release of Cress, her third book in the Lunar Chronicles series. If you haven't read these books yet, stop what you're doing and go get them.

Lots of people are getting cast for the Flash pilot. I can't even begin to explain how excited about this series and have all my fingers and toes crossed that it happens. (found via TheMarySue.com)

Speaking of possible new television series, a lot of people are getting cast for Gotham as well. I have no idea how this is going to be a television show, but I'm game. (found via EW.com)

And finally, have steampunk Batgirl by Mahmud Asrar. You can find more of his work at his Deviant Art profile.

Trailer Park Friday: Legos, Space Travel, Damien Wayne & More

We finally went to see Frozen last week and in front of it was a trailer for The Lego Movie. I had seen commercials for it, but not a full trailer. I now am kind of in love with this movie. It comes out February 7 and will hopefully be super silly.

Red Rising is an upcoming book by Pierce Brown from Random House that have been getting a lot of buzz. It's about a color-coded caste system, people working on Mars and other scifi goodness. It comes out on January 28 and here is its official television commercial

I don't think even Amy Pond can get me to see this horror film. Oculus is based on a short film and just from this preview trailer, it looks kind of terrifying. It is supposed to come out on April 18. Also when did WWE start financing films?

This next one I am very excited about even though this teaser trailer gives you absolutely nothing. FX is adapting Guillermo del Toro's The Strain book series into a television show starting this summer and hopefully it will be awesome.

DC can't get their live action films up and running, but they're still putting out animated features every few months. This is the first I've heard of Batman & Son being turned into an animated film. I personally prefer Damian work alongside Dick Greyson, but yeah, okay, Bruce Wayne works too. It'll be released on DVD sometime in the spring.

And finally, I have had this video opened in a tab for ages and yet always forgot to include it when Fridays rolled around. Not longer! It's a short 7 minute science fiction film called Beyond by Raphael Rogers about a girl with the ability to withstand intergalatic teleportation.

That's all from me this week. What videos have caught your attention? Share them in the comments!
