Trailer Park Friday: MORE ROBOTS, Book Adaptations, Star Wars & More

Alrighty, no preamble this week. I got videos!

Now that Guardians of the Galaxy has been released, I thought I didn't really have a new movie to be excited about. Then I saw the first trailer for Big Hero 6 and now I want a big inflatable robot of my very own. Big Hero 6 comes out November 7.

And because one robot is never enough, here's a trailer for Automata. I don't know when it comes out, but I WANT IT NOW!

One of the new shows I'm most looking forward to this fall is The Flash. Here is the latest trailer for the companion show for Arrow. It will be on the CW starting on October 7.

Last week I posted a making of view of Star Wars: Rebels, the new cartoon that starts on October 13 on Disney XD. This looks like it will be a lot of fun, especially for anyone that enjoyed The Clone Wars.

At Comic Con last month, we got to see a sneak peek of Horns and hear Daniel Radcliffe talk about it. It looks hilarious and kind of creepy. I don't think I've see Radcliffe in anything other than Harry Potter, so I'm looking forward to seeing this on October 31. This is the UK trailer for this film based off of Joe Hill's book.

Christopher Nolan has never made a movie I didn't enjoy, so I'm eager to see his next film, Interstellar, even though the trailer hasn't really intrigued me. Here is the latest international trailer. Interstellar comes out November 7.

And finally the trailer for Gone Girl. I literally just picked up a copy of the book this afternoon, so no spoilers about plot. This doesn't look like my usual sort of read or movie, but I've heard amazing things about the book and the trailer is very intriguing. It comes out October 3.

Which one are you most excited about seeing? Do you love all the robots showing up in movies these days? Link up any videos that have caught your interest this week in the comments.

Trailer Park Friday: Gotham Villians, Lego Batman, Sean Bean Will Probably Die & KORRA!

Of all the movies yet to come out this year, I think Guardians of the Galaxy is the one I'm most excited about. They released a new international trailer. Rocket Raccoon and those other guys will be in theatres starting August 2.

Of all the new fall television shows, I think I'm most excited about Gotham and Flash, so I was really excited to see this new teaser trailer for Gotham. Considering it's pre-Batman, the draw of this show for me will be the development of the villians. I hope the kid they got to play Selina Kyle can act because she totally looks the part.

Speaking of Batman, I just found out that a third Lego Batman game will be coming out soon. I love Lego games and I love Batman, so this will be part of my collection. There isn't an official release date yet, but it's supposed to come out this fall.

Here is a trailer for Legend. I'm predicting that Sean Bean will die at the end. It airs on TNT starting August 13.

This new Dreamworks animated film has an insanely generic name, which is sad because it looks potentially funny. It's called Home and it has Jim Parsons as an alien. It's comes out March 25, 2015.

And finally, there's no release date and no voice track on this footage for season 3 of Legend of Korra, but it gave me chills anyway. Looks like the next season will be full of action and plenty of all our favorite secondary characters.

What movie or television show are you most excited to see released? Link up trailers in the comments!

Trailer Park Friday: The Maze Runner, The Giver, The Boxtrolls & More

This week has been crazy in real life, so it's nice to escape to the interwebs where tons of movie trailers have come out. This week had several highlights including the first footage from The Maze Runner and The Giver, some pretty crazy new footage for Maleficent, Martin Freeman pretending to be from Minnesota in Fargo and more.

First up is The Giver because if they screw this movie up, my 8-year-old self might figure out a way to travel into the future/now and kick some people in the shins. The Giver comes out August 15.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Fargo, but I'm not a huge fan of the Coen brothers. I will take a chance on the new television version because there is a hobbit in it pretending to be from the midwest. It starts on FX on April 15.

I knew Maleficent was a faerie, but I didn't expect her to have crazy bat wings. I haven't come to a conclusion on whether this movie looks potentially pretty cool or just bad. Maleficent comes out May 30.

Earth to Echo is a Relativity sci-fi film I hadn't heard of until yesterday. It looks like it could be an interesting smaller film in the middle of all the blockbusters. It comes out July 2.

I have a confession - I still haven't read The Maze Runner. I've long since lost count of how many times it's been recommended to me, so I must get to it before the movie comes out September 19.

In my opinion Laika has never done wrong. Coraline is one of those movies I'm dying to share with my niece and nephew when they get older. Their next film is called The Boxtrolls and it looks like it will be awesome as well. It comes out September 26 and has a great voicecast.

I think that may be the max of potential greatness I can cram into a Trailer Park Friday. What trailers am I missing? What movies are you most excited about for this summer?

Tiny Trailer Park Friday: Batman's Son and Muppets

Late last night I discovered that I was approved for an e-ARC, so all day I have had to use every last ounce of self-control to actually get work done instead of curling under a warm blanket with a brownie and my Kindle to dive into a world of Victorian zombies. This is a long way of saying that this week the trailer park is going to be a bit smaller than usual.

DC Animation movies make me happy in a way I don't know if the live action films will ever be able to do. One of their next ones is Batman & Son and it comes out sometime this spring.

Muppets make me happy. Muppets and lots of fun actors makes me even happier. Muppets Most Wanted comes out on March 21.

Did I mention we were going super short this week, so I can bask in the delight of Susan Dennard's next book? If you have any lovely videos that have caught your eye this week, share them in the comments! From here on out, I can be found in the blanket fort on my couch.

Trailer Park Friday: Movies I'd Never Heard Of & Don't Watch Television with Sherlock

My usual trailer watching was supercharged this week due to this handy list of 65 science fiction and fantasy films set to come out in 2014. After a somewhat weak year in movies last year, I'm getting excited at the potential before me. Don't let me down, movie people!

I had never heard of Welcome to Yesterday until I read through that list on io9, but it's an indie comedy about teenagers building a time travel machine. It looks pretty predictable, but there's a tiny piece of me that hopes it's as good as Chronicle, which it keeps getting compared to. It will be released (probably limitedly) on February 28.

And another movie that somehow I had never heard of before now. It's called Under the Skin and it involves Scarlett Johansson playing an alien. It comes out April 4 and it looks bizarre.

Kite is an anime adaptation that I had (yep) never heard before, but it follows in the trend of teenage girl assassin movies soon to be coming out. It has Samuel L Jackson in it and exploding heads. One of my guilty pleasures is watching girl ninjas as lead characters of your standard action fare, but even this looks more like an internet parady video than a legitamate movie. The trailer and some clips are below (originally posted on Bloody Disgusting). There isn't a release date for it scheduled yet.

And finally to lighten the mood - what it would be like to watch television with Sherlock. It was created by Leigh Lahav and, after the twist at the end left me giggling like a mad woman, now I want to watch everything she's ever created. Warning: there are spoilers for other shows like Breaking Bad and Mad Men, but no spoilers for Sherlock. Spoilerphobes watch with care.

And that's it from me this week. What interesting videos or trailers have you come across this week? Link 'em up in the comments.
